Meet the Candidates at a Community Forum
Neighbors from across Seattle are invited to a community forum on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 6:30–8 p.m. at the Montlake Community Center Multipurpose Room (1618 E. Calhoun St.).
The evening will feature candidates for Seattle City Council Position 9—incumbent Sara Nelson and challenger Dionne Foster—along with those running for Seattle School Board Position 5 (Vivian Song and Janis White) and Seattle City Attorney (incumbent Ann Davison and challenger Erika Evans).
Hosted by the Eastlake Community Council and the Capitol Hill Community Council, the forum is a chance to hear directly from the people seeking to represent us. Organizers hope it will go deeper than soundbites and give voters a real sense of how candidates plan to serve Seattle’s neighborhoods.
Have a question you’d like asked? Send it to info@eastlakeseattle.org. Come join the conversation, meet your neighbors, and help shape the future of our city.
(Beyond the bulletin for Eastlake News, here are additional selling points for the event – feel free to add your own):
- In addition to hearing from the candidates, the evening offers a chance for community members to connect with one another. “We hope this forum not only informs voters, but also strengthens ties across Seattle’s neighborhoods,” said event organizers.
- The November general election will decide the leadership of critical offices that shape city policy, education, and accountability. Monday’s forum offers voters the chance to listen, ask questions, and consider how each candidate’s vision aligns with their community’s future.
