About
The electric atmosphere of this neighborhood around Halloween makes it amazing. Giving children and families safe and exciting places to explore, and strengthens bonds by turning individual efforts into something larger than the sum of its parts. Shared traditions like this create lasting memories, encourage pride in the neighborhood, and remind us that celebrating together makes our community stronger, friendlier, and more alive. Let’s Connect and Build on That.
The Plan
Have a meeting of the blocks from Roy and 16th to Prospect and 18th. Other blocks are invited, but given the short time frame we have to start somewhere.
The Meeting
October 1st from 6:30pm (till 7:30pm or so) at Prospect Congregational UCC Church
Corner of Prospect and 20th
Come meet neighbors and talk about how to make this year (and the ones following) the best Halloween ever.
What is the Meeting About?
The meeting is for those who show up. We have talked to local businesses to see if they could accept candy the night of. I can’t tell you how many people I run into on Halloween night from all over who are here just to give their extra candy to someone on these blocks.
Maybe you have extra decorations you aren’t going to use. Maybe you want to make this year even bigger than before. We have talked to local brass bands. They want to come and “close things out” (Actually they want to come twice.)
Maybe you know how to submit the paperwork to close the street, maybe someone else doesn’t. Let’s work together.
A lot is possible, but it isn’t possible alone.
